About the role
Responsibilities: Conduct geological field surveys, mapping and investigations. Identify and classify rocks, minerals and geological formations. Collect, label and document geological samples for laboratory analysis. Prepare geological reports, maps and field documentation. Assist with exploration, site investigation and mineral/resource assessment. Monitor and document geological conditions at project sites. Interpret geological and field data to support technical and operational decisions. Liaise with engineers, surveyors, consultants and other site personnel where required. Ensure field activities are carried out in accordance with safety and company procedures. Perform other geological duties assigned by management.
Requirements:
B.Sc./B.Tech. in geology, applied geology, engineering geology, geophysics, or a closely related discipline. A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in geological fieldwork, mining, construction, quarrying, exploration, or related industries. Professional certification/membership with a relevant geological or professional body is an added advantage. Good knowledge of geological mapping, rock/mineral identification, sampling and basic geological data analysis. Available to resume immediately. Willingness to work in the field and travel to project locations when required. Strong analytical, observation and problem-solving skills. Ability to prepare clear technical reports. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Knowledge of geological software/GIS such as ArcGIS or QGIS is an advantage. Physically fit and comfortable working in outdoor/site environments. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines Applicants should be responsible, disciplined and safety-conscious.
