About the role

Responsibilities: Define and evolve the product roadmap in line with business goals. Translate company vision into clear, prioritised product initiatives. Continuously refine product–market fit and drive readiness for full public launch. Own day‑to‑day product delivery and iteration cycles. Work closely with engineering to ensure timely, high‑quality releases. Identify and resolve blockers quickly, whether technical, operational, or external. Ensure product reliability, particularly around transactions and settlement flows. Work with banking and compliance partners to resolve integration challenges. Align product with operations, compliance, and commercial strategy. Analyse user behaviour and transaction data to improve conversion, retention, and user experience. Continuously optimise the product post‑launch. Build and lead the product function over time, introducing structure, processes, and performance tracking. Recruit, develop and manage a high‑performing product team. Requirements: Proven experience leading products in a fintech or payments environment. Strong understanding of payments infrastructure, cross‑border transactions, and banking integrations. Hands‑on operator who is comfortable with ambiguity and moving quickly. Experience taking products from launch to scale. Experience working in emerging markets, especially Africa. Familiarity with regulatory environments, KYC, and compliance workflows. Experience working with banking partners or APIs. Execution‑first mindset with high ownership and accountability. Ability to balance speed with stability and risk management. Why This Role Matters: This role is critical to our client’s success. The Chief Product Officer will help stabilise the product at launch, shape how the business scales, and build the foundation for long‑term growth. This is a build‑and‑scale role, not a maintenance role. If you are excited about building fintech infrastructure in a fast‑moving environment and want to take real ownership at a pivotal stage, we would like to hear from you. Working Model: Hybrid role based in Lagos, with approximately three days per week in the Victoria Island office. Close collaboration with the founding team and senior leadership. Compensation Competitive base salary benchmarked to market. Performance‑based bonuses tied to delivery and growth outcomes. Equity or share options with a vesting structure aligned to long‑term impact.
