About the role

Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day accounting and financial activities of the company. Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheets, profit & loss statements, cash flow statements, and other financial reports. Ensure proper accounting records and documentation are maintained in accordance with applicable accounting standards and Nigerian regulations. Handle budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and variance analysis. Coordinate and support internal and external audits. Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax returns and statutory filings in compliance with Nigerian tax laws. Work closely with the HR team on payroll processing, statutory deductions, employee-related payments, and payroll reconciliation. Manage vendor accounts, including vendor negotiations, payment terms, reconciliations, and settlements. Review invoices, purchase transactions, expenses, and payment documentation. Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable. Support import and export-related financial transactions, documentation, costing, duties, and other finance requirements. Work with management, procurement, logistics, and operations teams on import/export and supply-chain financial matters. Ensure proper controls are in place for company expenses, cash management, inventory, and financial transactions. Monitor compliance with applicable Nigerian financial, tax, accounting, and statutory requirements. Assist management with financial analysis and decision-making by providing accurate and timely financial information. Develop and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting systems as the Nigerian business grows. Coordinate with the Singapore head office on financial reporting and other accounting requirements. Perform other finance and accounting responsibilities as required by management. Requirements: 7–15+ years of relevant accounting/finance experience; candidates with more experience are welcome to apply. Strong practical knowledge of accounting and financial reporting. The candidate should have successfully cleared the entry-level stage of ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) or possess an equivalent relevant professional qualification. Strong understanding of balance sheet, P&L, cash flow, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Good knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations. Experience in auditing, budgeting, taxation, and statutory compliance. Experience working with FMCG, manufacturing, trading, or similar businesses will be an advantage. Understanding or practical exposure to import and export transactions is preferred. Strong vendor management and negotiation skills. Experience coordinating with HR/payroll teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and take ownership of finance operations. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Preferred Candidate Profile: We are looking for a hands-on finance professional who can help establish and strengthen the accounting function as Euro FMCG expands its manufacturing operations in Nigeria. The candidate should be comfortable working in a developing business environment, coordinating with multiple departments, and communicating with the Singapore-based management team. Location: Ibadan, Nigeria Remuneration: NGN 450,000-800,000 Monthly
