About the role

Responsibilities: Lead strategic development on all major accounts and new business pitches, from insight through to narrative architecture Build and manage a strategy team of two or more strategists, setting workflow, quality bar and development plans Translate commercial objectives, sector context and on-the-ground market reality into positioning that is authentic rather than aspirational Own the agency's point of view on major sector shifts in mining, energy, financial services, infrastructure and consumer markets across Africa and internationally Set and enforce strategic rigour across the agency: qualitative reasoning over templated frameworks, market-grounded arguments over lifestyle positioning Review and sharpen strategic documents produced by account teams before client delivery Requirements: Demonstrable and tested experience in strategy, planning or a senior communications role with a strong strategic component, ideally split across agency and either financial services, energy or infrastructure Demonstrated ability to build positioning and narrative frameworks that survive contact with sophisticated, senior clients Experience managing or mentoring a team, with a clear point of view on how strategic thinking is taught and quality-controlled Comfort working across sectors: financial and investor communications, critical infrastructure, corporate reputation and consumer Strong research and synthesis instincts able to build an argument from real market conditions rather than borrowed frameworks Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders including the CEO The Mindset: This role sets the tone for what LSF PR sounds like when it thinks.
